Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is a privileged time and place to confidentially reflect with a trained director about the many ways that God is moving in your life. 

• Spiritual Direction is available to everyone who is seeking to grow in their relationship with God. 
• A director may help you discern the next direction in your life and what God's desire is for you. 
• Direction is about being encouraged to draw closer to your true self, discovering God in the midst of daily living. 
• Spiritual Direction can add to your conscious experience of God's presence and love.

In Spiritual Direction, you reflect deeply on the experiences of your daily life.  The intended "content" for each session is what you bring - prayer, images of God, questions of faith, relationship situations, joys, sadness, fears, hopes.  What takes place during the session is what God desires, because the true director is the Holy Spirit.  

All Spiritual Directors at St. Therese have received specialized training and certification in Spiritual Direction. 

Consider some of the bigger questions in life.  Perhaps some of these resonate with you.

• Why do I feel out of touch with the divine?  Do you feel like something important is missing?
• Who am I in the truest sense?
• How can I nurture the connection I feel in nature or in special experiences? 
• I want to feel “at one” with what I am doing.
• What am I being called to bring to the world?
• How do I walk through or cope with the inevitable pain, loss and difficulty that come to all of us from time to time?

These are some of the questions that Spiritual Directors can help you answer.  A Spiritual Director is someone that listens, ask questions and offers compassion to help you find your own answers.

Spiritual Direction is offered as a one-to-one or group experience.  Spiritual Directors have completed extensive formation for this practice.
