Pillar of Prayer

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, words, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, and for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and also for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits who prowel about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Attending Sunday Mass is just the beginning of our relationship with Jesus.  What other ways do you spend time in prayer?
 

• Take five or more minutes a day to simply talk to God, either mentally or in journal form.
• Read the bible or daily readings (see link at left)
• Read and reflect on the Gospel Meditations for each Sunday
• Pray before meals  (even at restaurants)
• Attend daily Mass at least once a week
• Attend Eucharistic Adoration on 1^st Fridays
• Cultivate the fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control (Gal 5:22)
• Join a prayer group in the parish to enter into community with others
• Learn more about prayer ministries (listed below)
•  Venture out to learn more about different prayer forms
  • Contemplative Prayer
  • Lectio Divina
  • Ignatian Examen
• Pray the Rosary
• Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet
• Attend Reconciliation and penance services
• Arrive early for Mass to spend quiet time in prayer with our Lord
