Being an Indian Army brat, I grew up all over India as we moved every 2-3 years. One of the first things my parents did with every move was to seek out the Catholic Church and Catholic Schools for us to go to. Being Catholic has always been a central part of my life growing up and remains a key aspect of my identity.
Over the last two decades, I have worked for a leading global information technology and management consulting services company. It has given me the opportunity to put my bachelor’s in business, Information Technology diploma and MBA to good use. Currently, I am part of an Executive Leadership Team within its Financial Services unit. My work has taken me all over the world and given me the opportunity to meet and work with many wonderful people from all walks of life in over 30 different countries. It was work that brought me to Mooresville, NC from Australia in 2001 and what was originally intended to be a three-year stint has now become the place we call home.
My wife, Annabelle, and I have been members of St. Therese since 2003. Our two children have been baptized and are growing up in this Parish. Having benefited from the Catholic education ourselves, we have chosen to send Nathan and Meghan to Christ the King and St. Mark to learn in the Faith. They are also Altar Servers at St. Therese. We are proud for St. Therese to be our spiritual home and over the years it has been both: our place of refuge and solace in tough times; and where we give thanks for our many blessings. We have seen the Parish grow over the years in size, diversity and vibrancy and pray that it continues to do so in the years to come.
In the past I have been active with furthering the cause of Catholic Education and have served with the MACS Education Fund Advisory Council. Annabelle and I are also part of a group that is raising funds to support the expansion of Christ The King’s sports facilities. We also actively support Seminarian Education and other similar causes within our Diocese.
So far incessant travel and a hectic work schedule has not left much time to indulge my passions which include reading anything and everything; being a student of military history and combat aviation; listening to music and attending concerts; cooking and entertaining; and living the Lake Life.
I am looking forward to being more active in the Parish and serving our Pastor and the St. Therese community to the best of my talent and energies.
Ian is the Pastoral Council contact to the Education and Formation Commission for Young Adults and Adults.
