The Spirit of Giving Warms the Heart! Community Ministries is hosting a food drive to benefit Christian Mission. Donations may be dropped off before and after masses in the Narthex the weekend of February 13 and 14. January 22 marks the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court Decision that made abortion legal in the United States. Since then, over 61 Million Lives have been lost and many of their parents' and families' lives shattered. The Cemetery of The Innocents is erected as a memorial to these children. Last year, Stroke Scan, Plus held a stroke and organ screening event at St. Therese that over 300 people within the parish participated in. Stroke Scan, Plus is coming back to St. Therese on February 4, 5, and 6 (Thursday–Saturday). Pre-registration IS necessary and appointments are limited. COVID fatigue is a real thing! For the past several months, we have all learned how to live our lives in 2 week chunks of time. The fatigue comes from the mental and emotional exhaustion from dealing with all things COVID-19. Click to read more!
Our Christmas Mass Schedule will be: Christmas Eve Masses - 1:00pm, 2:30pm, 4:00pm, 6:00pm, 8:00pm, and 10:00pm. Christmas Day Masses - 10:00am and 12:00pm (Spanish). All Masses will be in the church (there will be no double Masses). Our Masses have limited capacity to allow for proper social distancing. The limit for inside the church building (nave and narthex) is 450. When we have reached 450, no one else will be admitted inside, however, you are welcome to stay outside and we will make sure that you receive Holy Communion if you desire to. Masses for the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God will be on Thursday, December 31: Vigil Mass at 6:00pm and Friday, January 1: Holy Day Mass at 9:00am followed by a Holy Hour. The Parish and Faith Formation Offices will be closed on Friday, January 1.
Starting on the second Sunday of Advent, December 6, the noon Mass will be in English and the Spanish Mass will return to 2:30pm. You may contact the Parish Office to place intentions for these Masses. The schedule will be reassessed as the New Year begins.
The St. Therese Pastoral Council has an unexpected vacancy to fill for the remainder of a 2020-2021 term. The Council provides discerning leadership to our parish as we promote our life and mission. Community Ministries will be working with The Christian Mission this year to provide Christmas to children in our area. We will not have sign ups at church. The inaugural “CHALK IN THE PARK” contest, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council #7406, on Saturday, October 24, was an unqualified success! Beautiful weather brought out enthusiastic families who showed off their chalk artistry with colorful creations in the church parking lot.
