To start the mission in Africa, the St. Therese group was welcomed by the Medical Missionaries of Mary in Malawi. Mollie Anderson, (photo below: top left photo and placed second-to-left), is serving as the St. Therese group leader. After arriving on Wednesday, Anderson says the group is excited to begin their work.
"Team Malawi made it with a wing and a prayer. The Holy Spirit was looking out for us as we waited in a long security line at O'Hare. Thank you, Marcel, for putting us on the fast track so we could make the flight!"
Anderson added, "We met a mission group from Virginia that is headed to Malawi to assist with irrigation. Today and tonight we are staying at the Medical Missionaries of Mary. Tomorrow heading to see their clinic."
Upon arrival in Africa on Wednesday, the St. Therese group met Sister Grace (pictured in photo on top right). On Thursday, Anderson's "Team Malawi" will be visiting Sister Grace's convent and the clinic she works in. Among numerous missionary events, the St. Therese's group will be handing out Rosaries made by parishioners (pictured in bottom photo) before the group left on their mission trip.
