confirmation programConfirmation, together with Baptism and Eucharist, form the Sacraments of Initiation that are all intimately connected. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. It celebrates the presence of God's special strength and gifts in a baptized person.
The Confirmation program stresses the importance of not only learning Christ's message, but also living it through service. Service projects are completed individually and with the class. Regular Sunday Mass attendance is the basis of this program, as our classroom discussion is based on the Scriptures of the week.
The Confirmation program follows the Diocese's requisite that all students have at least two years of preparation classes in order to be confirmed. It is generally received in 8th grade after two years (7th and 8th grade) of preparation, but High School students who are new to the parish and have completed Faith Formation at their previous parish can also join us to complete the Confirmation requirements.
Our 2nd year of Confirmation preparation (8th grade & up for those who completed year 1) will use the Chosen program by Ascension Press. Chosen: Your Journey Toward Confirmation takes young people on a journey through the entire Catholic faith in all its richness and vitality. Teens will be captivated by the story, from Creation all the way through salvation history, and they will come to see how the sacraments, prayer, and discipleship are the keys to a happy life. The goal of this 24-lesson program is nothing short of winning over the hearts of teens and making them disciples of Christ.

Volunteers and Supplies Needed for Linus Blanket Project
On Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 8:45am-1:00pm in the PLC, the confirmation class will be creating blankets for various local organizations to fulfill part of their service activities. Adult and student volunteers are needed!We need to borrow: sewing machines, rotary cutters and rotary cutting boards. The following items need to come as pairs please: ironing boards and irons. Please label anything that you are letting us borrow. Please drop these items off starting October 29th through November 3rd at the Faith Formation office.
Volunteers with sewing experience is a plus but not required. Adult volunteers please arrive at 8:30am for instructions. Please email Roseann Harrill at [email protected] with any questions.
